Organizational Effectiveness

The Gender and Economic Inclusion Technical Assistance Framework project undertaken by Al Jidara aimed to enhance NEPCO's HR policies and practices, with a specific focus on ensuring equal opportunities in all aspects of HR, including attraction, recruitment, retention, development, retrenchment, and governance, with a special emphasis on fostering equal opportunities for women in accessing technical positions. Al Jidara's tasks within the project resulted in comprehensive recommendations for gender sensitivity and the development of a holistic approach to building a sustainable female talent pipeline. This involved the creation of inclusive strategies, including a flexible working model tailored to NEPCO's needs. The project sought to transform management and employee perceptions and practices, employing a mixed-methods approach that combined quantitative and qualitative data through focus group discussions, key information interviews, site visits, and an initial desk research analysis of regional and international best practices. Al Jidara also introduced a Competency Based Approach to strengthen NEPCO's organizational structure, implement a solid HR strategy, foster a gender-diverse workforce, and eliminate horizontal discrimination, vertical segregation, and gender pay gaps. The project concluded with recommendations, a capacity-building action plan, and benchmarking against global best practices to support NEPCO in fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment.
