King Khalid Foundation – Social Entrepreneurship Program (Phase 1 & Phase 2) (2021)

Al Jidara collaborated with KKF to empower 52 social entrepreneurs from Prince Sultan University (PSU), fostering the transformation of their ideas into impactful social enterprises. Through a carefully crafted workshop, participants gained essential personal, professional, and organizational skills necessary for designing and establishing social entrepreneurial projects. The program encouraged innovative solutions to community-based problems. Following a weeklong outreach campaign at PSU, Al Jidara developed a social entrepreneurship training program with focused modules to enhance participants' capacity. A two-day hackathon provided students the space to design their concepts, with mentorship throughout the process.
The hackathon culminated in a pitching session, where a judging panel selected three winning teams. Building on this success, Al Jidara entered phase 2, collaborating with KKF and representatives from the three universities to refine training and marketing materials based on lessons learned. Al Jidara then led one-week outreach campaigns in the universities, raising awareness, showcasing the benefits of social entrepreneurship, and encouraging applications. Subsequently, Al Jidara conducted three parallel training bootcamps in the selected universities, targeting 90 students, and organized a two-day hackathon where students competed to address a social challenge presented after the bootcamp. Through these initiatives, Al Jidara significantly contributed to fostering a culture of social entrepreneurship and innovation among university students.
