During the Aqaba Technical Assistance Support Project (ATASP), Al Jidara played a crucial role in enhancing the capacity of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) in effectively developing and managing the Aqaba Special Economic Zone (ASEZ). Focused on several project components, including regulatory development, institutional capacity building, planning and infrastructure, investment promotion, and business/economic development studies, Al Jidara made notable contributions.
Specifically, the team implemented a Management Information System (MIS) and developed an electronic Enterprise Registration and Permitting System, earning the project a Silver Award for Innovation and Excellence in workflow implementations. Al Jidara also established a Research & Policy Advocacy Unit under the Investment Affairs Directorate, ensuring updated information for planning and promotional activities. The team published ASEZ's First Annual Report, developed country-specific intelligence guides for targeted sectors and markets, and contributed to the successful implementation of the ASEZA Marketing Plan in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
