Aqaba Technical Assistance Support Project (ATASP)

The main objective of the Aqaba Technical Assistance Support Project (ATASP) is to enhance the capacity of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) to effectively develop and manage the Aqaba Special Economic Zone (ASEZ), consistent with its long-range vision for the development of the Aqaba region.  The program provides institutional support to the ASEZA to effectively promote integrated economic development in the Zone, develop appropriate regulatory frameworks, integrate land use and infrastructure planning, and promote investment.  The three-year program includes five project components:

1. Regulatory, Customs and Revenue Systems Development
2. Institutional Development and Training
3. Planning, Infrastructure and Private Provision of Services
4. Investment Promotion and Facilitation
5. Business/Economic Development Studies and Support

Al Jidara role within the program is the provision of technical assistance covering all program components, as well as managing and leading key projects for the institutional and business development of ASEZA including the capacity building and training of its staff.
