Preparing the Pesticides Residues Testing Laboratory for Accreditation

Provided technical assistance to the Pesticide Residue Testing Laboratory at the Ministry of Agriculture to fulfill the requirements of the Jordanian Accreditation System. The assignment included pre-assessment to define gaps  with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 followed by developing a quality management system that fulfilled the requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC 17025. The system included: quality manual, quality management system procedures and relevant work instructions, forms, and guidance on the layout of testing standard operating procedures (SoPs).

The project also included building the capacity of the laboratory staff on key technical issues, as well as six days of specialized training covering the quality system, internal audit and measurement uncertainty. A post assessment of the laboratory’s performance was also part of the assignment to evaluate the level of system implementation and define further corrective and improvement actions.
