Rule of Law Program

The USAID Rule of Law Program provided direct technical assistance to strengthen judicial independence, improve the Cassation Court’s ability to render final appeals decisions, improve the efficiency and transparency of court services to Jordanian citizens and lawyers, strengthen the skills and knowledge of judges and court staff, enhance and expand the courts’ nationwide computerized case management system, and assist the Ministry of Justice to develop and implement justice sector upgrade efforts.

Al Jidara Services

Under the Process Reengineering Support IQC, Al Jidara worked with the Jordanian Ombudsman Bureau and the Judicial Council on several assignments related to strategy, institutional capacity and Business Process streamlining.

Multiple assignments at the Jordanian Ombudsman Bureau included: Assisting the Jordanian Ombudsman Bureau (JOB) to develop and endorse a detailed strategic plan to set the formal consideration/ direction of the JOB future course and building consensus with key stakeholders on mandate and strategy; Conducting an institutional and operational assessment at the Jordan Ombudsman Bureau (JOB), and making recommendations on priorities and opportunities for improvement; Conducting a detailed assessment of the current processes at the Jordan Ombudsman Bureau (JOB) and redesign the processes to improves the efficiency of work

At the Judicial Council, the project entailed: Conducting an institutional and operational assessment at the Judges’ Affairs Unit and Secretariat in order to make well informed, realistic and implementable recommendations on priorities and opportunities for improvement; developing and documenting the Judicial Council’s business processes across the main functions in the organization and compiling the Operations Manual for the organization.
